Here are two small sculptures, each a fired clay head mounted on a driftwood block. Painted in acrylics and ink, with vintage lettering to finish. Look inside their heads and you’ll find a collection of tiny scrolls of paper – each taken from a collection of vintage letters. The letters were send in the early 1930’s by a mother and her son, who had just left home to start his career as a teacher. Each is beautifully written, with real penmanship.
